Danced Mask - Huxwhukw by Aubrey Johnson C2008
Huxwhukw is one of three Kwakwaka’wakw giant cannibal birds that are the attendants of Baxwbakwalanuxwsiwe” the cannibal at the North End of the World.
The mask is carved from the Wallace Family on Aubrey's mother side this was danced in the Queen Charlotte Island
in the spring.
This mask measures 48 inches long by 8 inches wide by 8 inches in height, with the cedar bark it measures 50 inches long by 36 inches high by 10 inches wide. Carved from Red cedar and finished off with cedar bark it also has all the rigging fron being danced.
